Alice Alma Schmidt, age 96, of Harvest Home Assisted Living in Howards Grove died on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
Alice was born on May 27, 1927, in the Town of Mosel, a daughter of the late Hugo Sr. and Hilda (Arndt) Imig. She attended Haven Grade School.
Alice and Henry J. (Hans) Schmidt were united in marriage on June 10, 1950 at Mission House Campus, Lakeland College. Henry died on January 31, 1998.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Schwarzwald. Alice enjoyed setting puzzles with her husband, embroidered hundreds of dish towels and in her later years at Harvest Home she enjoyed playing King’s Corner.
Alice is survived by nephews, nieces, and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alton and Hugo Imig; brothers-in-law, Ervin Schmidt, Lester Schumacher, Wilbert Casper, Henry Westermeyer, Edmund Bender, Roy Schmidt, Ray Thiel, Frederick Zimmermann; sisters-in-law, Shirley Imig, Alice Casper, Lorena Westermeyer, Erma Bender, Rogene Schmidt, Arline Thiel, and Bernice Zimmermann.
A Funeral Service for Alice will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at St. John’s UCC (Schwarzwald), W3401 Orchard Rd, Elkhart Lake with Pastor Melinda Feller officiating. Family will greet visitors on Tuesday at church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Entombment will take place at the Garden of Peace Mausoleum in Kohler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Alice’s name can be made to St. John’s UCC (Schwarzwald).
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice Care and Harvest Home for taking such good care of Alice. Also, thank Pastor Melinda Feller for all her visits.
