Mark Zimmer

Mark Zimmer

Mark Zimmer is president and owner of Zimmer Funeral Homes. He attended Loras College in Dubuque Iowa and graduated from Worsham’s College of Mortuary Science in Chicago in 1977. Mark moved to the Sheboygan area in 1983 after purchasing the former Ahrens Funeral Home in Howards Grove. In 1996, he acquired the former Gerend-Habermann Funeral Home in Sheboygan. In 2003, work was completed on the new 8500 sq ft. Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center. Mark is a member of the Noon Rotary Club of Sheboygan, Pine Hills Country Club, and is a Master Mason with the Sheboygan Blue Lodge #11. Mark is a past president of the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association where he continues to serve on committee, past president of the Lakeshore Funeral Directors Association as well as former president of the Howards Grove Lions Club and Sheboygan Jay Cees. He is past chairman of the Sheboygan County Lions Eye Bank and was on the advisory committee for the Milwaukee Eye Institute. He is on the board of directors for the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce and the Salvation Army. Mark and his wife Debra live in Howards Grove. He enjoys volunteer work on community projects, restoring vintage cars and gardening. Mark is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Howards Grove LCMS, and is a past board member of the Sheboygan County Chaplaincy.


Michael Prange

Michael graduated from Lincoln H.S. in Wis. Rapids in 1985. He then joined the U.S. Army for three years of active duty with the 41st Infantry, 2nd Armored Div. Fwd., followed by three more years of Reserve Duty. He attended U.W. Stevens Point from 1989 until 1992. Following graduation from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, IL in 1993, he returned to Sheboygan employed as a funeral director for the past 17 years. He has been a member of the Early Bird Rotary Club in Sheboygan for the past 13. On January 1, 2004 he joined Zimmer Funeral Homes. He and his wife Katy (Rusch) were married in October of 2002, and are members of Grace Episcopal Church in Sheboygan. They have two daughters, Nina Marie born in 2004, and Anna Jane born in 2007. Currently he is serving as Secretary for the Lakeshore Funeral Directors Association, enjoying shooting sports, and participating in a few local mountain bike races and triathlons.

Brian Block

Brian Block, a Green Bay native, graduated from West Green Bay High School in 1995. He attended UW-Green Bay, followed by Worsham College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1999 as a member of the Pi Sigma Eta Honors Fraternity.

He completed his pre-licensure apprenticeship at Ryan Funeral Home in De Pere, then joined Lyndahl Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Green Bay in 2000, until joining Zimmer Funeral Homes in late 2009.

His professional memberships include The Lakeshore Funeral Director’s Association, the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association.

Brian and his wife Erika, a design company owner, and their two dogs currently reside in Howards Grove.


Elizabeth Heitzmann

Elizabeth Heitzmann is a native of Sheboygan. She graduated from Lakeland College in 1997 with a BA in Psychology and is currently attending graduate school at Lakeland to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is a certified preplanning counselor and a life insurance agent with the State of Wisconsin to provide Burial Agreements, representing Zimmer Funeral Homes. Elizabeth has been assisting families with preplanning since 1999. She also is a Certified Alzheimer’s Specialist and the Bereavement Coordinator for Hospice Advantage in the Central Wisconsin Region, providing grief counseling and support groups in Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Fond du Lac, and Oshkosh areas. Elizabeth and her husband, Jeff, who works at Kohler Company, have two young children; Nathan and Magnus, who are attending Sheboygan Area Schools.
