Funeral Visitation and Mass for Irene Stein
Time: 9:00am - 11:00am Central

After a brave struggle with cancer, Irene Emily Stein, age 86, of Terrace Estates and formerly of 3619 Rosewood Court, died peacefully on Friday July 25, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 21, 1921 in the Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Theodore and Genevieve (Baugniet) Bonde. She attended Holy Trinity School in School Hill.
On April 12, 1939, Irene and Alfred A. Stein were married at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz. Alfred preceded her in death on December 25, 1987. Irene was an active parish member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church for over 50 years. Irene was a long-standing member of the Christian Mothers' Society of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Parish, the Slovenian Women's Union and the Catholic Women's Charity Club.
Irene loved baking, embroidering and playing cards with her friends. She especially enjoyed giving love and sharing enduring moments with everyone she encountered. Irene will always be remembered for her radiant smile and wonderful sense of humor.
She is survived by four sons: Leon (Shirley) of Sheboygan, Ronald of Appleton, WI, Terrence (Cathy McNeil-Stein) of Villa Park, IL, and Joseph of Sheboygan; four daughters: Audrey (James) Klatkiewicz of Henderson, NV, Genevieve (Stephen) Eirich of Menasha, WI, Judy (Alan) Stein-Alvarez of Durham, NC and Therese Wetherington of Ayden, NC; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Roman (Elizabeth) Bonde, Donald (Margaret) Bonde, Alex (Rita) Bonde, Theodore (Virginette) Bonde, Jr; four sisters, Marion Lenz, Frances Hutchison, Loretta Koenig, and Margaret Bonde, all currently residing in Manitowoc County. Irene is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Irene was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rose and Marcella and four brothers, Norbert, Bernard, Odilo, and Frederick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Irene on Monday July 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 822 New Jersey Avenue. Reverend Glenn Powers, pastor, will be celebrant. Interment will follow at Greendale Cemetery. Friends may call at the CHURCH on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
A memorial fund has been established in the name of Irene E. Stein.
