Marion O. Pragalz, of Sheboygan, Wisconsin died Monday July 21, 2008 at St. Nicholas Hospital after a brief stay. She was 87. Marion, a life long resident of Sheboygan, was born April 17, 1921, the daughter of Frank R. and Anna C. (Siegl) Pungercar, Sr. She attended St. Dominic School and was a 1939 graduate of Sheboygan High School.
On June 10, 1939 she married Frank J. Pragalz at St Dominic Catholic Church. Marion and Frank lived on North 6th Street for more than 60 years, and they celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary just prior to Frank's death in 2007. They had three children. For the last year, Marion has been a resident of Terrace Estates Assisted Living on Eisner Avenue. They were faithful members of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.
A short time after he was discharged from the Navy, Frank and Marion became the proprietors of North Star Tavern on North 8th Street until Frank established his own business, Pragalz Septic Tank Cleaning and Installation Service in 1953. Marion served as bookkeeper, office manager and Gal Friday until they both retired in 1984. Frank preceded her in death on April 4, 2007.
Marion was a kind, warm-hearted, gentle woman with a great sense of humor. She loved to cook, sew, sing and look after family, neighbors and friends.
She is survived by her sons Robert (Barbara) Pragalz of Cleveland, Wisconsin, William (Vanessa) Pragalz of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and daughter, Susanne of Glenview, Illinois; six grandchildren Vicki (Jason) Grams of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Michael Morrissey of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Robert D. Pragalz of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Colleen Pragalz of Prospect Heights, Illinois, William (Andrea) Pragalz of Chicago, Illinois and John Pragalz of New York, New York; a great granddaughter, Adrianna Grams; a brother, Ralph Pungercar of Rockford, Illinois and a sister-in-law Nellie Pragalz Laack of Sheboygan as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Two of her brothers, Frank (also of Sheboygan) and Roger, who lived many years in the Milwaukee area, preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Marion on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Ss Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. Friends may call at the CHURCH on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Entombment willl follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1521 Lakeshore Drive, Cleveland WI 53015.
