Mark Zimmer President & Owner mark@zimmerfuneralhome.com

Mark Zimmer is president and owner of Zimmer Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center and Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center.Homes. He attended Loras College in Dubuque Iowa and graduated from Worsham’s College of Mortuary Science in Chicago in 1977. Mark moved to the Sheboygan area in 1983 after purchasing the former Ahrens Funeral Home in Howards Grove. In 1996, he acquired the former Gerend-Habermann Funeral Home in Sheboygan. In 2003, work was completed on the new 9500 sq ft. Westview Funeral& Cremation Care Center. Ballhorn Chapels became part of the company in 2014. Mark is a member of Pine Hills Country Club, and is a Master Mason with the Sheboygan Blue Lodge #11. Mark is a past president of the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association where he continues to serve on committee, past president of the Lakeshore Funeral Directors Association as well as former president of the Howards Grove Lions Club and Sheboygan Jay Cees. He is past chairman of the Sheboygan County Lions Eye Bank and was on the advisory committee for the Milwaukee Eye Institute. He also is a former member of the board of directors for the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce and the Salvation Army. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Howards Grove LCMS, and is a past board member of the Sheboygan County Chaplaincy. Mark and his wife Debra live in Howards Grove. He enjoys volunteer work on community projects, restoring vintage cars and gardening.

Brian Block Licensed Funeral Director

Brian Block, a Green Bay native, graduated from West Green Bay High School in 1995.He attended UW-Green Bay, followed by Worsham College of Mortuary Science,graduating in 1999 as a member of the Pi Sigma Eta Honors Fraternity. He completed his pre-licensure apprenticeship at Ryan Funeral Home in De Pere,then joined Lyndahl Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Green Bay in 2000,until joining Zimmer Funeral Homes in late 2009. His professional memberships include The Lakeshore Funeral Director’s Association, the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association and the Howards Grove Lion's Club.  Brian and his wife Erika, a design company owner, and their two dogs currently reside in Howards Grove.

Julianne Ehlert Licensed Funeral Director

Julianne Ehlert is happy to say that she was born and raised in Sheboygan.  She earned a B.S. Degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, which laid the foundation for her eventual call to Funeral Service.  After a twenty year stint of co-owning a family business in New Holstein, she returned to school and received her Mortuary Science Degree through Milwaukee Area Technical College in June of 1999.  She then began employment with and served her apprenticeship at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels and is pleased to have joined Mark Zimmer and his team.

In her spare time, Julie enjoys reading and preparing her family’s ethnic German Russian meals, but she especially loves spending time with family, especially her granddaughter,Harper Lillian

Fawn Schaefer Licensed Funeral Director

Fawn Schaefer was born and raised in Milwaukee. She graduated from Rufus King High School in 1995 and Milwaukee Area Technical College with an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science in 2000.  She is also a pre-need specialist and received her insurance license in 2005. Fawn started her apprenticeship at Schramka Funeral Home in Milwaukee, and then following graduation went to work for Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory in Burlington until 2014. Family is very important to her, so she relocated to Appleton in 2014 and joined the Ballhorn Chapels & Zimmer Westview team in June of 2015.  Fawn along with her husband Lucas and two children Sam and Scarlett are excited to call Sheboygan home.

Tiffany Christenson Licensed Funeral Director

While attending Sheboygan Falls High School, Tiffany had the chance to job shadow at a local funeral home. The experience helped her discover that funeral service was a way to combine her caring personality with her desire to help others. Tiffany served her apprenticeship at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington while attending mortuary school at Milwaukee Area Technical College. She became a licensed funeral director in 2007, and remained with Eernisse Funeral Home until joining Ballhorn Chapels/Zimmer Westview in October of 2016. Tiffany continued her education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where in 2008 she earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She is a member of the Wisconsin Funeral Director’s Association, where she serves as the current Vice President. Tiffany married her husband, Travis, in 2013 and the couple reside in Oostburg with their son, Graysen, and two cats. Tiffany enjoys camping, attending festivals, and spending time with friends and family.

Pam Burkel Pre-Need Family Service Counselor

Pam Burkel (nee Buser) was born & raised in Cedarburg, WI but has spent the last 25 years living in Port Washington raising her two wonderful children, Jessica and Adam.  She has an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, acquired her insurance license in 2009 and became a Certified Preplanning Consultant in 2010.  Pam comes to Ballhorn Chapels & Zimmer Westview with more than 7 years’ experience in preplanning funerals.  She has a passion working with families to help them plan one of the most important events in their lifetime.  In her spare time, Pam and her husband Jim enjoy traveling, taking scenic trips on their motorcycle and attending Packer Games.

Tracy Smith Administrative Bookkeeper

Tracy was born and raised in Sheboygan, WI and graduated from Sheboygan South High in 1988.  She is married and has one daughter.   Tracy has been the Office Administrator/Bookkeeper at Ballhorn Chapels since January 2005.  Tracy enjoys spending time outdoors working in the yard and camping at various places around Wisconsin spending time with her family and friends. Tracy also leads an active lifestyle enjoying activities such as running, volleyball, snowmobiling with her husband and taking various fitness classes.

Becky Thiessen Office Manager

Becky was born and raised in the Manitowoc/Two Rivers area.  She graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School in 1991.  She is married to her husband Chuck, together they have a blended family of four children; Alex and Claire, and Alex and Allison.  They also have a dog; Max, and two cats; Cloe & Oliver Leonard.  Becky enjoys watching her children participate in their school sports.  She also plays on several volleyball teams throughout the year.

Allen VanDeLoo Funeral Assistant

Allen joined the Ballhorn Chapels team as a Funeral Director Assistant. He was born and raised in Sheboygan and is a long time employee at St. Nicholas Hospital. Allen is a dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, and was an active member of the Sheboygan Jaycees over fifteen years. Allen lives the creed he learned in the Jaycees that "Service to humanity is the best work of life".

Charles Benedum Funeral Assistant

Chuck is a long time resident of Sheboygan, and retired from Lutheran High School. He and his wife Ruth  Ann (Prehm) have two children: Kate (Lt. Col.George) Markert of Oceanside, CA and Dan (Mary) Benedum of Menomonee Falls, WI and his two Grandchildren: Emily and George of Oceanside, CA Chuck's interests include spending every available opportunity with family, enjoying all sports and  at all levels of from  high school to college to professional. He enjoys volunteering for Sheboygan Lutheran High School, and the school's thrift shop. Chuck considers it an honor to be associated with the staff of Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center. He hopes to bring Christian care and concern to people experiencing a difficult time at the loss of a loved one.

Job Hou-Seye Funeral Assistant

Job is a Sheboygan native having graduated from South High School in 1985.  He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from UW-Milwaukee in 1989, after which he matriculated to the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison.  Job joined Zimmer Funeral Homes/Ballhorn Chapels in February of 2016. He was the Vice Chairman for Sheboygan County Right to Life from 2006 thru 2010.  Job has been an ordained minister with RULC Parish since 1976 and has been the Wisconsin State Chairman for Powerlifting since 2004. He has worked in the Financial Services Industry as a licensed insurance intermediary since 1999.

Julian Jetzer Funeral Assistant

Julian Jetzer is a long time resident of the Sheboygan area. He retired from radio broadcastiing in 2000 when he sold his radio stations WKTS, WXER in Sheboygan and WGBM in Green Bay. He began his broadcasting career with WHBL in Sheboygan in 1958. He also owned and operated Central Photo Company for a brief period in the 1970’s and was manager of the Louise Sills Commercial Photography Division before purchasing Central Photo from the Sills Corporation. He served as Secretary for the Sheboygan Downtown Association and was on the Sheboygan Area United Way Board of Directors. Julian currently serves as the Technical Director for the Weill Center for the Performing Arts in Sheboygan. He and his wife, Jane, recently moved from their retirement home at Pigeon Lake in Manitowoc County to Howards Grove.

Rev. DuWayne Hanke Funeral Assistant/Chaplain

DuWayne is a 1967 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School and has been working with our funeral homes since 2008.  He retired after 35 years of active church ministry with the Reformed Church in American denomination.  His ministry skills are also used as he serves as a  hospice chaplain for a local hospice agency.  He is married to his wife, Dorita.  They have two married children and two grandchildren.  DuWayne will often do the prayer at the Plymouth Dirt Track on Saturday nights.  He enjoys collecting U.S.A. stamps and M & M memorabilla.

Fred Meyer Funeral Assistant / Maintenance

Fred was born and raised in the Ada-Kiel area. After retiring with many years of service working for UPS, Fred is a Funeral Director Assistant at Ballhorn Chapels. He is an active member with the Ada volunteer Fire Department, and the Howards Grove FFA Alumni. Fred is also a member of Bethel U.C.C. in Ada. In addition to his wife Cindy, Fred has five children and is now the proud Grandpa to his first grandson. Fred is an avid collector of cars, and memorabilia.

Leo Waldschmidt Maintenance

Leo was born in Campbellsport Wisconsin and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  He graduated from Plymouth High School.  He is married to Kay and has one Son and one Daughter.  He also has 3 Grandchildren.  Leo has been a dedicated and loyal employee for Zimmer Westview since 2005.  He enjoys country music and going to country music festivals.
