Pedro Vallejo

Pedro J. Vallejo, Sr. age 73, a longtime resident of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday May 2, 2009 surrounded by his loving family at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Jalostotitlan Jalisco, Mexico on December 4, 1935, a son of the late Jose and Iginia (Jimenez) Vallejo.

Pedro came to the United States in 1962, helping his cousin, farming in California. In 1967, he moved to Sheboygan, taking a job at the Sheboygan Foundry. He met and later married Maria Ramirez on March 1, 1969 in Mexico. Pedro accepted a position in the foundry of the Kohler Company, where he worked with pride until his retirement 26 years later in 2002.

Pedro’s family always came first, and he was an avid gardener, sharing his vegetables with pride. He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church where he had been an usher.

Surviving Pedro is his loving wife, Maria; his children, Abraham Vallejo, Ruth Vallejo, Pedro (Amy) Vallejo Jr., his grandson, Alexandro Austin and his granddaughter, Camila K. Vallejo. He is further survived by Manuel Vallejo of Sheboygan, along with ten other brothers and sisters, living in Mexico.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Pedro on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at St. Clement Catholic Church at 12:00 Noon. Friends may call on the Vallejo family on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Zimmer Funeral Home, 805 N 6th Street, Sheboygan, and at St. Clement Church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
