Joyce Kraemer

Joyce A. Kraemer, 75, Village of Cleveland resident, passed away Friday, March 05, 2010 at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center of pulmonary fibrosis. She was born June 30, 1934 in Sheboygan to the late Alfred and Lillie (Barthel) Jaehnig. Joyce attended schools in Sheboygan and Manitowoc County. She graduated from Kiel High School in 1952. On September 6, 1952 she was united in marriage to Charles “Chubby” Kraemer by Pastor Eldon Bode at St John St. Peter Lutheran Church in Cleveland. Charles preceded her in death on August 23, 1989.

Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. She was a member of St John St. Peter Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, Cleveland Senior Center, Homemakers group and several card clubs, one for over 50 years.

Joyce is survived by one son, Brian (Cindy) Kraemer, Newton; one daughter, Linda (Harley “Sonny”) Streiber, Kiel; six grandchildren, Shalan (Peter) Larson, Hancock, Brant Kraemer, Madison, Ryan Kraemer, Newton, Derek (Erin) Kraemer, McFarland, Scott Streiber, Kiel, and Lucas (special friend, Lindsey) Streiber, Homestead, FL,; one great grandchild, Lily Larson; one sister, Elinor Jaehnig, Howards Grove; three sisters-in-law, Jerry Jaehnig, Newport News, VA, Violet (Lanny) Weiskopf and Kathleen (Kenny) Riesterer, Kiel; two brothers-in-law, Willis Voss, Newton and Stanley (Shirley) Kraemer, Illinois City, IL and a very special companion for 16 years, Willie Kleinhans. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, Scott; one brother, Gordon Jaehnig; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria (Herman) Haefke, Betty (Merlin) Hansen and Delores Voss; mother and father-in-law, Arno (Myrtle) Kraemer, one brother-in-law, Thomas Kraemer; one niece, Sandra Schema and one nephew James Hansen.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St.John St. Peter Lutheran Church, 1255 W. Washington Avenue, Cleveland, with the Rev. David Endorf officiating. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Zimmer’s Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ) and at the church Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial to follow at Saxon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
